Privy 5 Overview

"The view at this hotel restaurant is worthy of the meal. That’s not to say that the food is bad at all. The food is great. One Pico is the picture of Santa Monica - all classy white and beach decor. On a lazy Sunday, it is ideal to have a couple of appetizers and cocktails and just relax, if you’re not that hungry and if you are, you can opt for their brunch menu. Shrimp stuffed crab is one offering available, and it’s as delicious as it sounds. The beet salad, which comes with an amazing truffle goat cheese, is exceptional. The chicken hash, which features incredibly tender chicken and two perfectly poached eggs and a lox plate which comes with lots of nice touches like a black pepper infused cream cheese and chives and onions diced to miniscule proportions. Round things out with a chocolate lava concoction perhaps, or walnut meringue." The food was excellent but I wish the menu was a bit larger to give us more to choose from for brunch options. It was a great way to enjoy a pretty morning and really appreciate the beach, whereas lots of times I think SM residents view it as a traffic magnet and a hassle. After brunch, we sat around for a quick moment in the hotel's amazing lobby and just soaked in a lazy Sunday. Wonderful!
