Gjelina is an impressive space with its textured wooden tables, installation art worthy light fixtures, dark moody interior and gorgeous outdoor patio. It gets festive when you sit at one of their communal tables and cozy up with others as you enjoy their menu of great tapas style food. One of their more popular dishes is the hen of the woods mushroom toast with creme fraiche and truffle oil and f ... read more >

Beer braised beef brisket, Carolina style pulled pork and more conventional BBQ chicken sandwiches are all available here. The pulled pork is great, but the beef brisket has a juiciness to it that can be tasted even without the many sauces they have on the menu. Chicken wings that taste like they were cooked on an open fire are a delight. Sides include creamed and fried vegetables and mac and chee ... read more >

Taihei might be the best sashimi place in San Gabriel Valley. The intimate local venue has made a name for itself by being consistently known for quality and freshness. As a traditional restaurant there is no fusion fare here but traditional, fresh, and delicious sushi and sashimi dishes. Another plus is that the cuts of fish are generous.

"You can choose a combination meal for a few extra bills here that enhances the meal far more than the little outlay would suggest. Combo sides include a protein rich chicken and egg bowl, an eel bowl, a shredded pork bowl, kotteri (a fat rich dish) and tuna sashimi, although there is a great range and everything is tops. The ramen portions are generous. Vegetables include bamboo, onions and peppe ... read more >
