American Slam Poet, Actor
Beau Sia is an American Slam poet who attended the New York University's Tisch School of the Arts dramatic writing program and was one of the featured poets in documentary "SlamNation." While in New York, Beau became conscious of his identity as an Asian American, something that he denied often growing up in Oklahoma City. However, his cultural identity became a common theme in his poems. Beau Sia eventually earned two National Poetry Slam Championships in 1997 and 2000 and has since released a number of works and appeared in numerous films.
