This gem amongst the stretch of Japanese restaurants along Sawtelle Blvd. in West Los Angeles is a no-nonsense sushi bar with fresh fish and good prices. While most Japanese restaurants serve ankimo or monkfish liver as a minimal appetizer, at Hide it is prepared as sushi with robust flavor and texture. The scallops should not be missed either but you'll have to dine in for them as they aren't available for take-out for fear that the freshness would be ruined.
