Privy 5 Overview

Everyone in LA knows Katsuya primarily for being a local hotspot for celebrities and paparazzi. In fact, TMZ practically owns property right in front of Katsuya's entrance. However, aside from being an opportunity to star-gaze, Katsuya is also a pretty good sushi restaurant. The restaurant itself is impressive in terms of decor with a club like vibe but the menu is just as impressive. The kobe beef with foie gras is a ballet of sweet, savory, gamey, melting beef, and satisfaction. The crab in soy paper is a unique experience with a creamy component from the soy that makes it a delicious novelty. The Miso black cod is beautifully done as well as the lobster dynamite and rock shrimp which are beautifully presented in addition to tasting brilliant. Of course, a trip to Katsuya wouldn't be complete without trying their much talked about spicy tuna...just make sure the celebrities don't catch you drooling.
