Don’t judge a book by its cover. As with many such establishments, the shop front isn’t fit for purpose: This is a top class venue with some great food and classy décor including shelves and (something of) an open kitchen. Choice of noodles, choice of toppings, and then (if you want) a choice of mini bowls for each dish. Get a fishcake (shrimp and scallops), tempura, eel, egg or curry soba, for example. Let the broth cool for a few moments (it’s very hot). Relish the taste of the fine ingredients and enhance with wasabi and green onions in the soba sauce. There are lots of Japanese customers, so it has the stamp of approval from the expats.
