The original Clover Club comprised of Philadelphia journalists - a select group. They met at the Bellevue Hotel once a month between 1882 and 1920, to eat drink and talk. Alan Trummer owns this old Europen Apothecary-themed bar and indeed these Apothecarys were opium dens which often housed bars.
