Privy 5 Overview

Share |

Cru has fast become a gathering place for migrating oenophiles, this is hardly surprising as the "portfolio" of wine, as Cru staff likes to call it, is a collection of 150 000 bottles owned mostly by Mr. Roy Welland. It is presented to patrons in two leather-bound volumes. Unfortunately they lost Shea Gallante, (he was chef de cuisine at Bouley), but this has been rectified, with the addition of Todd MacDonald, who has worked for Welland before. It is possible to find a reasonable wine at a reasonable price at Cru, but if you fancy going for broke, a bottle of Lafite-Rothschild "1870" will set you back $11000 - it was a very good year indeed! A la carte food items can be found at the bar and a three-plus course chef's tasting menu is available for dinner; so do save some money for food.
