Designer Henry Leung (of Hong Kong) makes daybeds, Chinese screens and Venetian mirrors the décor of the day in Salon de Ning; where East Meets West and the rooftop of the New York Peninsula hotel meets the city skyline. Salon de Ning at the top of the Peninsula is where the scene comprises of suits and sunglasses, and while it's not the wildest scene, it is popular with patrons boarding the express elevator to secure their spot in the sun. The views are spectacular, and it beats the pants off dark and dingy downstairs dives. Salon de Ning is a welcome retreat away from the maddening crowds for a moment of tranquility and relaxation.
