It is still a NY hot spot guided by the hand of culinary diva - Masa Takayama. Bar Masa is more animated, smaller and of course less extravagant, but you can still select items from the fancy omakase menu next door. This foodies temple to the Gods of sushi comprises a long bar with bar dining and ultrasuede banquettes, and Japanese street food; baby shrimp fried rice. The tuna belly tartare – a glistening delicacy in the raw, piled high with Oestra caviar and other sushi is flown in daily in containers such as those used for organ donations and presented like small works of art.
