Privy 5 Overview
Barbounia is one of the finer Greek/Mediterranean restaurants in New York. The ambiance of the venue comes from the inviting and rustic, heart-warming space. Two of the highlights on the menu include the Croque madame made with gooey gruyere cheese, bechamel sauce, and salty strips of ham sandwiched between two thick slices of buttery-toasted brioche. The other must-get item is the "Morrocan Eggs" which are served in a cast iron skillet with sunny-side-up eggs simmering in a smoky, paprika-tomato sauce with garlic and house made lamb sausage. Dishes are served with the very delicious Barbounia's freshly-baked bread and makes for one of the best Greek meals in the city.
