Privy 5 Overview

Share |

This Japanese sushi restaurant is Michelin starred and literally translated means the “jewel box”. An imagery the glittering curved bamboo arches and blond wood interior personifies. Owned by Jack and Grace Lamb this unlikely restaurant is worth the trip out to the East Village for. This is the restaurant of choice for most sushi snobs and the general consensus is that JB serves the best sushi downtown. Be warned, it is as small as a shoe-box, the sushi bar seats only seven. It is also constantly busy but the Chef's omakase makes everything well worth the wait. Jack mackerel and tuna belly are flown in from Tokyo and dinner may well include crunchy octopus - live.
