Nougatine is another one of Mr. V's (Jean-Georges Vongerichten), French cuisine, critics' picks, where the food is good and the business is better. This notable chef has created a spot which is somewhat of a hidden gem of a restaurant in New York. The terrazzo floor looks good enough to eat in its resemblance to a huge slab of Nougatine and the dining space is adorned in modern blond-wood and little else. While NYC dining divas walk on by, enjoy a taste of Jean-Georges at a fraction of the price, in less complex, but just as masterful dishes. We suggest the sweet pea soup with croutons, brie and dill, and roasted red snapper, but if it’s a burger you want you can't go wrong at Nougatine.
