Order one of everything at Shanghai Tide; you have to taste it all. Their super spicy shabu shabu is an all time favorite, but won't destroy your taste buds. The broth at this hot-pot, hot-spot takes three days to prepare. It has been infused with both chicken and beef bones, and liberally yet lovingly spiced with Szechuan spices and chili oil. Table-top cooking is exciting so have fun. The treasures to choose from include, slivers of meat (beef, lamb etcetera), salty fish balls, bok choy, taro, bamboo, mushrooms, pork meatballs, dumplings, clams cod cakes, crab and more. Take the 7 train to the end of the track; this is one trip to Queens where the prize is worth the ride, and don't forget the sauce bar.
