Privy 5 Overview
The Metropolitan Museum of Art, NYC, also know as the Met, but not to be confused with the Metropolitan Opera, is one of the most renowned cultural collections in the US. Opened on the 20th February 1872, the Museum itself is a work of art. It houses a vibrantly eclectic, permanent collection of over 2 million works from all over the globe from 77,000 year old flints to Imperial Chinese displays. A visit is quite literally guaranteed to be aesthetically impressive and so is a must-do once in a lifetime. Approximately 30 non-permanent exhibitions a year compete for visitor attention, and since being opened this building has doubled in size and rightfully so when you consider it houses ancient Egyptian architecture within its halls. A trip to New York would not be complete without experiencing this landmark museum.
