La Cachette is the latest French bistro along vibrant Ocean Avenue. The restaurant is ideal for late brunch, relaxed lunches and romantic evenings. Well-known Chef and Owner Jean Francois Meteigner has been serving French fine dining to California for over a decade and has decided to cook modern French bistro fare in a comfortable setting. There are three sections to the restaurant, the open patio where one can enjoy watching people walk on by the beach while having a hearty meal, the spacious bar room where one can have a drink or two of imported beers and lovely wines, and the main dining area lined with cheery red booths. The La Cachette menu may make it difficult for one to decide on what to order because everything is oh so delicious. Make certain to try the poached salmon salad, the Provencal sautéed frog legs, coq au vin, and the killer floating island dessert called Ile Flottante. La Cachette Bistro takes more than one visit to truly experience that is why devoted diners just keep coming back for more.

Q: How did you get started in the culinary arts?

I started at 15 in a three star restaurant in France. My uncle was raising cattle for the owner

Organic fruits

Wild caught fish, any kind of birds, favorite dish wild ducks or doves that I hunt myself.
