Bagdad Café in Jeju has been a popular hangout for expats since it opened its doors back in 2006 because of its welcoming feel, mouth-watering Indian cuisine, and the wonderful views of the lovely Han River in the day and the lights of the buildings and skyscrapers that line the edge of the river at night. The interior is quite simple; wooden chairs, fluffly cushions, and lighted candles making the place look red-orange-ish giving it a welcoming ambiance. The Bagdad Café owner and designer Hyun Ju-Ryoung, was inspired to open the restaurant because of her love of curry dishes. The restaurant menu includes famous Indian dishes like chicken tandoori or makhni, mango laasi, and fluffy naan bread. Try the flavorful vegetable samosa for starters or the Tangri chicken kebab served with spicy salad. Make sure you sample the masala and the palak paneer or the other rich curry dishes. Have some traditional India chai tea to wash it all down and cleanse your palate. The Bagdad Café is a perfect place to admire the view, take pleasure in having an authentic Indian meal and relax while puffing on a shisha pipe. Call 82-757-8182 for information and reservations.
