The Shilla hotel in Seoul houses one of the most upscale Chinese restaurants in town - Palsun. The modern design with black chairs, carpeting and artworks by Edurado Chillida, Picasso and Joan Miro set against white and cream colored linens and walls makes for a truly elegant ambiance. The restaurant can accommodate 156 people in the main dining hall and has eleven rooms for private gatherings. Aside from private gatherings, Palsun creates a comfortable environment for special occasions, family events, or even business meetings. Palsun serves classical and contemporary Chinese cuisine featuring dishes that are specialties of various areas in Mainland China. Sample the restaurant’s specialty called Buljojang comprised of seafood (shark’s fin and ear shells) and vegetables sealed in a pot that is steamed for as long as three hours to bring out the most amazing flavor. The steamed tofu, foie gras and crab meat in Black Moss Sauce is also worth mentioning. There are plenty of set menus to choose with a variety of dishes from Seared Korean Beef Escalope to Shrimp Stuffed Sea Cucumber and much more. All set menus are finished with Palsun's special dessert. Palsun Chinese restaurant is open for lunch starting noon until 2:30 PM and for dinner starting at 6 PM until 10 PM.
