Privy 5 Overview

This bar/lounge concept from chef Willy Trullas Moreno of El Willy restaurant fame, flourishes and not just because of it's prime location amongst the night life of the French Concession. El Coctel retains the Spanish comfort and flair of El Willy but translates it to a conversation friendly lounge concept in with imaginative furnishing, excellent service and some of the best cocktails in town prepared by arguably the best bartender in the city. That would be Tree, a Japanese import from Ginza who honed his craft well before the opening of this bar and it shows in the creations from this skilled mixologist. It makes sense for Willy to fuse Spanish and Japanese cultures at this lounge as the Japanese cocktail method is like an art form that uses only top-shelf liquors, freshly-squeezed juices and hand-cut ice that makes each sip of the cocktail delicious and not an obligation. The bar/lounge is an intimate space with two rooms, so it can get filled easily which means you'll have to plan accordingly. However, this smaller venue is worth it as the focus is on craftsmanship and quality. Also, a short food menu is available featuring oysters and various sandwiches from el Willy and are the perfect complement to your expertly mixed cocktail.
