Privy 5 Overview
Cu Cai Guan is a haven for seafood lovers. The majority of dishes on their menu list revolves around different varieties of invertebrates – from shrimps to snails, to crabs, sea cucumbers and even qilin algae – all waiting to be cooked in whichever way imaginable. If you’d like to be on a safe side, you can always try the conventional fried shrimp. If you’re up to something new, they also have the extraordinary qilin algae in fragrant soy dressing. Taking a break from the seafood craze, they also offer sumptuous and juicy roasted chicken, some colorful vegetable dishes, cured fish, stir-fried pork with hot green peppers, and of course, a selection of dim sum and noodle dishes. Cu Cai Guan’s interior does not really have much to offer aside from pale yellow tacking and recessed utility lights. It centers more on Cantonese home-style staples that their kitchen consistently prepares with pleasure. You can find Cu Cai Guan along Xinzha Rd. Northwest Beijing Rd., at intersection with Changde Rd. in Jing’an District. Restaurant opens at 9am and closes 12 midnight. Making a reservation is recommended as the place may sometimes get crowded.
