Privy 5 Overview

Share |

In a word Shanghai Tang Cafe is nouveau-Chinese with it's impressive decor and new take on traditional Chinese cuisine. As an extension of the luxury brand, the cafe looks to bring the idea of contemporary Chinese chic of the Shanghai Tang brand to the restaurant-bar scene. There's no doubt that the restaurant itself is stunning to behold. The new Chinese theme is evident in the black glossy walls with back-lit colorful silk embroidered features, glass windows shrouded with black and lime green curtains, lacquered black table and chairs all make for a fantastic and intense setting against the vivid accents. Further helping the restaurant's cause is Chef Jereme Leung, the award winning chef formerly of theWhampoa Club at the 3 on the Bund. Most people enjoy starting their meal with the foie gras and continuing with the sauteed duck meat. In addition to the food, their Mango Martini is a crowd-pleaser and is definitely worth trying along with their menu of trend-setting cocktails. Overall, Shanghai Tang Cafe is a dining experience that is innovative and worth trying.
