Privy 5 Overview

Share |

T8 is situated in one of the historic Shikumen houses in the Xintiandi French concession area of Shanghai. Modern European cuisine with an Asian twist is what T8 is celebrated for as they offer an ever evolving menu and dishes that feature proteins and vegetables that are in season. Also, as a contemporary restaurant, T8 is offering dinner in a new three or four course degustation menu at RMB 478/ RMB 598. Start your meal with one of the appetizers including the Tataki of Sesame Crusted Tuna or the Black Angus Beef Carpaccio. Move on to the mains for the popular Australian Wagyu Beef Striploin Grade 9+ complete with carrot puree and crispy potato. Not to be missed is the Pan Roasted Chicken Breast "Filled with Truffles" and adorned with braised Chinese cabbage and bacon. Also, if you're a vegetarian, there's no need to worry as a number of savory vegan/vegetarian options are available including the Pan Fried Potato and Parmesan Gnocchi. For dessert, the featured "Broken Ice Cream Sandwich", the Toasted Marshmallow with watermelon, coconut tapioca and apple sorbet, and the Passion Fruit Souffle are all delicious. Pair each course with the right wine or sip while you watch while your meal is being artistically prepared in the open kitchen. The design is clearly Asian inspired with dark wood floors and furnishings and ancient Chinese artifacts on display that are complemented by candle lit lanterns. With great food, relaxing and welcoming ambiance, and good service, Conde Nast was right to select T8 as one of the top 50 restaurants in the world.
