Tonkatsu Hamachan is a restaurant located right across from Urbn Hotel in Jing An that specializes in, you guessed it, tonkatsu or Japanese style fried pork cutlet. It's an intimate and quaint restaurant that also serves other items on the menu such as hamburger steak, curry, and stir-fried pork slices, but people generally come here for their popular tonkatsu. The pork cutlet comes in two varieties, fatty and lean...with the a layer of fat that gloriously cases the meat for the fatty version. The extra layer of fat on fatty cut, makes it juicier and crust is thinner if that is what you prefer. All tonkatsu is served with special tonkatsu sauce and yellow mustard. The set also comes with pickles, miso soup, shredded cabbage, and unlimited rice. All said, you won't want to miss the tonkatsu at Tonkatsu Hamachan.
