Privy 5 Overview

Arguably the best Peking duck in town. Or, at least that's what Privy members William Wong and Carol Lin seem to believe in their glowing reviews for Xindalu. Carol even goes as far as to call it a "must-stop" for entertaining guests which makes perfect sense when considering this restaurant offers fantastic Peking duck in a non-traditional and comfortable dining environment. The casual setting means that diners can enjoy humble offerings of Shanghainese and Beijing style cuisine while watching it all be prepared from the open kitchen including watching their expert duck chefs create masterpieces. A trip to Xindalu would not be complete without having their renowned duck and according to William, the duck "is carved at your table and served in 4 styles. Delicate Crispy Skin, Skin/Meat, Meat only and Soup. My favorite was the Delicate Crispy Skin...dip in some sugar and let it melt in your mouth! Delicious stuff!" As the recommended spot for Peking Duck, Xindalu is perfect for both an introduction to duck as well as for duck aficionados all within a restaurant devoid of the distractions that come at traditional Peking Duck venues. Not cheap but nowhere is it overly pricey which means come prepared for a great feast.
