Privy 5 Overview
Thick, rich soy milk here. The sweet soy is actually unsweetened, so you can sweeten according to your own tastes. Service is great and the prices reasonable. Always a good thing when a place is busy, and while waiting in line, you can peruse the menu. The décor is functional. The food is authentically Taiwanese. The green onion pancake is folded and has a nice tang. The fried turnip cake has a touch of seasoning or flavor (Nutmeg? Almond?) that you won’t find elsewhere. The noodle dishes are great too, if you fancy something that’s more of a lunch than a breakfast. Everything is good. Functional design at this eatery means that you know the management’s interest is entirely food focused. The prices here are amazing for the quality of the food, which is very high. The salty rice roll is delicious with a bread and meat filling, but make sure you wash it down with a beverage. A pork and pickle bun for those who crave their protein early is effectively a delicious burger. You’ll leave this popular venue entirely satiated and ready to hit the day running.
