Privy 5 Overview
Affectionately known as MoMA - the Museum of Modern Art is a well known attraction and it is incomparably immodest. In the past it competed like a modern day tower of Babel against the New York skyline. MoMA was a living part of the story it told and the collection it housed, just as the cosmically spiraling Guggenheim and the modern citadel of the Whitney did. The new MoMA codifies one of the largest collections of modern art in living history. Designed by Yoshio Taniguchi, a Japanese architect, this is a light filled temple, imbued with the spirit of the garden. Like the Guggenheim this building itself is modern art and a place of retreat. Guided tours are available twice a day and are led by lecturers, Grad students and occasionally curators.
