Privy 5 Overview
MOCA stands for The Museum of Contemporary Art in Shanghai. It was established by the Samuel King Foundation and it is supported by the city as it aims to promote and showcase both international and Chinese contemporary artworks and designs. The museum is run by both local and international modern art connoisseurs and curators. The MOCA is very easy to locate because it is near the Municipal Government Building and other famous museums in Shanghai. Ask your driver to take you to Gate 7 of People’s Park on Nanjing Xi Lu. On exhibit beginning February 9 until this month of March are the artworks of Zhou Tiehai entitled “Dessert”. The show features paintings of French desserts with intriguing social occupation titles. Take a trip to the MOCA and find out how Zhou Tiehai has cleverly pictured a judge, financier, and minister to name a few, into delightful paintings of desserts. If hunger starts to set in after walking around and filling your sense of sight with the artworks on display, you can head to the Art Lab located on the third floor of the museum where they feature contemporary designs, drinks, cuisine and music. Experience modern art for all the senses and to the fullest at the Shanghai MOCA.
